How Does a Dental Bridge Work?
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth (pontic) to the adjacent natural teeth. The bridge consists of two crowns (one on each side) supporting the pontic in between.
Bridges fill gaps in your smile, prevent surrounding teeth from shifting, and maintain a balanced bite. If you’re not a candidate for implants or prefer a faster solution, a bridge may be the ideal choice.
What to Expect with CEREC Crown and Bridges
- Step 1: Consultation & Digital Imaging — We begin with a thorough exam to assess your oral health. Advanced digital imaging captures detailed scans of your teeth, allowing us to design a restoration that perfectly matches your smile.
- Step 2: Crafting Your Custom Crown or Bridge — CEREC technology uses computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and our in-house milling unit to create your custom ceramic crown or bridge while you wait.
- Step 3: Placement & Perfect Fit — Once ready, your dentist will ensure a perfect fit, shape, and color before securely cementing the crown or bridge in place. You’ll leave our office the same day with a fully restored, functional smile.
Living with cracked, broken, or missing teeth can be challenging as you struggle to chew, speak, and smile confidently. Damaged teeth can also lead to further decay, while missing teeth can cause bone loss, bite misalignment, and changes to facial structure over time.
A CEREC dental crown is a durable, long-lasting restoration, but proper care is essential to ensure it stays strong and functional for years. By following these simple maintenance tips, you can protect your investment and keep your smile looking great.
